Day 33. Wednesday, July 21 – Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Sevierville.
Woke up 10 minutes before bkfst. Cereal n coffee by Super 8’s small indoor swimming pool. Yogurt and salad in room purchased at Kroeger’s. Renate had tea and hot oatmeal in room.
I ran around hills and also checked souvenir stores for ceramic souvenir tiles. Futile.
Drove into Gatlinburg, stopping in-between along the road where river borders.
Gatlinburg is older touristy. Includes more tattoo and motorcycle places.
License tag says ''Nasty Eh''. Drivers arm near ground
Trams go over a road in Gatlinburg
Random side road up mountain-ward (Ski Mountain Road ) led us to Las Ositas Cantina & Grill. One month opened. Empty. Pretty. Enjoyed Steak fajita salad included nice slices of medium rare steak and ½ of small avocado sliced. $9. I also had beer. Renate had Beef taco, crisped with rice and beans. $6.50.
Sandy and Renate chillin' at Las Ositas
Nice how many motel rooms in Gatlinburg overlook rivers, brooks.
Return briefly to Pigeon Forge motel. Then drove to buy tickets for Cirque de Chine show. Killed time at nearby Tanger Outlet. Renate shopped Lane Bryant. We both ate Mountain Edge Grill (misnomer) – also in the outlet. Renate really enjoyed hamburger. I had Caesar with salmon. Okay.
Cirque de Chine worth the $27 admission. Juggling, balancing, tumbling, acrobatics, ballet, hoops, flying (from raisable wires or fabrics), much with kids (easy to bounce around).
Crazy finale with one... no two....... no….5 motorcyclists inside 15 foot spherical wire cage.
From website - this is time lapse of probably 1 motorcycle
They put in five! It was nuts.
