Day 18 – July 6 - East Aurora, Niagara

Day 18 – July 6 - East Aurora, Niagara

Renate and I discovered “Taste”, a breakfast/lunch place. Order at counter, foods like eggs benedict on bagel. Great. And great coffee.
Brigit came over with 9-year-old, Sam, to the Roycroft Inn (where she arranged for us to stay). The four of us drove the 30 minutes to Niagara Falls.

There we boarded the "Maid of the Mist". We donned ponchos for the wet and almost blinding ride to the falls. (Blinded by the sparkling white mist)

Afterwards, back in East Aurora, Pizza and more at “Tantalus”, next door to “Taste”, our breakfast spot.

We saw the Fisher-Price headquarters where Brigit works, coordinating with engineers, programmers, artists and children while developing interphase design of new toys. Her kids frequently get to test the beta models.
Brigit, Sam and I walked to a park, then to an ice-cream Caboose.
Brigit and her husband, Mlad, just bought a new home. 6 weeks before she can move in. It's in beautiful, old, modestly up-scale town of East Aurora about 15 miles west of Buffalo. Mlad plays competitive chess - often overseas - and has established an international ranking. Lately he’s been teaching chess.
We called it a day and thank Brigit for showing us around.
