Day 30 - Sunday, July 18 - Nashville Parthenon Noshville Green Hills Cyrus

Day 30 Sunday, July 18 - Nashville

Breakfast at Rodeway Inn: coffee and sugar-frosted corn flakes with a little left-over milk.

Drove to Bicentennial Park and State Capitol perched on hill.

Drove a little downtown, then out Broadway and West End Ave to the Parthenon! Nashville's musesum of ancient Greece and of itself.
Beautiful grounds include water, garden, jet and old locomotive.

There were flower beds and ponds down there.

Also checked out Vanderbilt campus and neighborhood with great hill homes and views.

Found "Noshville delicatessen" on Broadway near Vanderbilt and had great lunch. Reuben; Corn beef and GREAT matzoh-ball soup.

Asked about movie theater and was told 4 more miles down the road. Ended up at the Mall of Green Hills. Big, clean, high-end busy mall. Beautiful stores. Skylights, larger than Gardens mall.

First, Renate had nails done. Then we saw Cyrus
  • Director: Jay Duplass, Mark Duplass
  • Cast: John C. Reilly, Jonah Hill, Marisa Tomei
Came home and AGAIN looked for dinner. Missed Jack's Bar-B-Que (across street from our motel) for the 2nd time. Closed at 7 pm on Sundays!

I got nuts and kept driving about 8 miles along some random road, passing mostly trees and some KFC's, industry, farms, Church's, car lots, and 2 closed restaurants.

Ended up ordering Italian take-out. Veal marsala and eggplant parmesan.
